Who We Are

Avidity Medical Design Consultants, LLC develops courses for both online and traditional classroom settings. We also develop practical, precise, and performance-based solutions for healthcare and non-healthcare practitioners in clinical and corporate environments. These instructional and performance-based solutions allow students and employees in the healthcare sector, as well as those outside of the healthcare arena, to immediately transfer what they learn to the real world setting upon completing each course.

Sheila D. McCray, MS, CCS, CCS-P, ACDIS-Approved CDI Apprentice, ACDIS-Approved CDI Outpatient Apprentice, is the principal of Avidity Medical Design Consultants, LLC, holds a B.A. in Journalism with a specialization in advertising from Temple University, and an M.S. in Instructional and Performance Technology from Boise State University. She also holds certifications in Captivate, Dreamweaver, SharePoint, MS Office, microbiology, clinical trials research for pharmaceutical development, medical coding, medical transcription, medical claims processing, MS Office, desktop publishing, and other medical specialties. As a certified online instructor, medical coder, biller, and transcriptionist with an extensive background in healthcare, she designs curriculum for all areas of healthcare, including healthcare management, billing, coding, transcription, electronic medical records, healthcare statistics, healthcare administration, and dentistry. Our learning and performance optimization solutions focus on the following key areas:

✔ Learning concepts illustrated by practical case studies and real world examples.

✔ Performance optimization that focuses on closing the gap between current employee performance and optimum performance in the healthcare setting.

✔ Adaptable learning solutions that apply not only to the healthcare setting, but also to the non-healthcare setting. We also design instruction for K-12 learners, train-the-trainer, and employees who do not work in the healthcare arena, using universal processes and procedures for instructional design, teaching, training, and performance optimization.

  • Psychomotor Domain (i.e., enhancing a student’s level of physical coordination and object manipulation, if applicable to the task being learned).

Frederick Taylor's Principles of Scientific Management

  • Setting expectations.
  • Establishing benchmarks for maximum vs. average performance.
  • Providing training tools such as quick-reference charts and just-in-time training.
  • Taking appropriate steps to reinforce the behavior learned.

The ADDIE Model of Instructional Design

  • Analyze.
  • Design.
  • Develop.
  • Implement.
  • Evaluate.

Joe Harless's Front-End Analysis

  • Defining the problem and potential cause of the problem.
  • Determining when the problem is solved.
  • Pinpointing methods of effective resolution.
  • Identifying time constraints and any other hindrance to effective resolution.
